why we’re different…
Our walking tour takes you to locations around Downtown Tampa and gives you the story of “what it was”. We will give you the names of African American businesses and proprietors that have been left out of the history books. Learn their stories, their contribution and their addresses.
1). We Don’t just tell you…we show you
We know you were taught that nothing good happens after dark..but you’re grown now and you know that isn’t (always) true. Beat the heat and experience Downtown Tampa at night for something out of the ordinary. Join us before or after your evening plans to add some culture and history to your dinner/club itinerary.

2). We Do it at night…
Nothing against Google (we love it)..but our tour gives you the little known Tampa Black History facts that can only be found by scouring census records, historical city directories, old plat maps, decades old Green Books, and ancient newspapers. Our love language is the information that you can’t easily find. When you’re done with our tour, your’e going to be intellectually superior (it’s a loose standard).
3).WE’re better than google….
4). kids (WITH AN ADULT) ARE ALWAYS FREE….
We never want money to get in the way of exposing kids to history. Let’s face it, there is very little (if any) Tampa history taught in schools and even LESS about the contributions of African Americans. Now, you DEFINITELY have the option of leaving the kids at home so you can have a night out - but at least now you have a choice.
5).WE’re flexible
Ummm..I mean it’s Florida, it’s hot and some of us are human heaters. We don’t want the extreme temperatures to get in the way of getting your lesson.
